A. Wahab & Co. Chartered Accountants (AWC) is one of Bangladesh's most trusted and well-reputed professional services organizations. We have served as auditors and financial and management consultants to numerous government organizations, foreign-owned companies, branch and liaison offices, banks, insurance companies, non-profit organizations, donor agencies, and others in the public and private sectors.
Our firm began with Mr. Abdul Wahab, FCA, in 1968 in a modest office at the Hotel Purbani in Motijheel, Dhaka, and fewer than ten employees. Since then, we have grown to a sizeable force - with five partners, two directors, and more than 180 staff members across three offices. We have become one of Bangladesh's most respected professional services organizations and pride ourselves on consistently delivering the highest quality service in audit, advisory, tax, and accounting. We listen to our clients and tailor our services to meet their specific needs, whether for start-ups or late-stage companies.
We are experts on the needs and expectations of domestic and foreign companies in Bangladesh. Our clientele includes over 200 foreign organizations operating in Bangladesh from 26 countries in healthcare, information and communication technologies, consulting, service and hospitality, education, financial services, insurance, construction and infrastructure development, real estate, textiles and apparel, jute production, and other sectors. AWC is a proud member of the Leading Edge Alliance (LEA) and the Dezan Shira Asian Alliance (DSAA), serving as their representative firm in Bangladesh. The LEA is the second-largest international professional association of independently-owned accounting and consulting firms and has its head office in Chicago, Illinois. The DSAA makes up one of the largest integrated providers of corporate services in Asia, with more than 35 offices and 600 professionals in the region. Abdul Wahab, FCA
Founder and Senior Partner
Mr. Abdul Wahab is one of the most esteemed and critically acclaimed members of the ICAB. He has over 50 years of experience working with closely held businesses in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the United Kingdom, and specializes in Tax and Corporate Law. In addition, he has experience auditing both private and public banks, government entities, and not-for-profit organizations. He holds a B.Comm., Honours, from Dhaka University, Bangladesh, an M.A. in Economics from Karachi University, Pakistan, and LL.B from Sindh Law College, Pakistan.
Mohammad Nurul Islam, FCA

Mr. Mohammad Nurul Islam has been a Partner at AWC for 20 years. His expertise includes a range of professional services across a variety of industries, including financial institutions, government entities, and not-for-profit organizations. He holds a B.Comm. degree from Dhaka University, Bangladesh, and became a fellow member (FCA) of the ICAB in 1984.
Nurul Wahab, FCA, FCMA, CPA (US)
Managing Partner
Mr. Nurul Wahab is an astute businessman with an eye for innovation. As Managing Partner, he is the face and driving force behind AWC's current reputation. He specializes in assurance, compliance, and consulting services in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, technology, software, construction, and government. He holds a B.Comm., Honours, from Aligarh Muslim University, India, an M.A. in Economics from California State University, USA, and is a licensed CPA under Maryland, USA, in addition to being a member of the ICAB and ICMAB in Bangladesh.
Mohammad Showkat Hossain, FCA
Partner
Mr. Mohammad Showkat Hossain heads AWC's tax advisory practice, and is an active tax practitioner responsible for hearings at the Appeals and Tribunal level. He is a strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills, who recommends practical solutions to help each client minimize their taxes and protect their assets. Additionally, he specializes in the audit of banks, insurance companies, and listed companies.
Kazi Mahboob, FCA

Mr. Kazi Mahboob is a leader in AWC's assurance, advisory, and transfer pricing practices. He focuses on business process outsourcing and improvement, controllership, training, and management consulting. He is highly attuned to the needs and best interests of his clients, offering strategic insight and proactive advice, and has served as Lead Partner on many national and international engagements.
